Septic System
On March 17, 2016, Charlie Strickland dug the holes and placed the septic tank and leach fields.
Charlie Strickland places the tank with a little help from Michael Pate. The tank was made by the largest machine in the USA.
Once dug the trench had immediately filled with water...the tank was filled with creek water to keep it from floating.
First time in 22 years of setting tanks that Charlie Strickland has begun filling the tank with water from the pit.

On September 20, 2016, Papi and Baba went to Riversong planning to stay a few weeks. The sewer odor in the cabin was unbearable. We were forced to turn on the attic fan even though it was in the 50s. The greatest concentration of odor was in the upstairs bathroom but it emanated throughout the cabin. When we used the attic fan the odor then could be smelled at the front of the house because of the circulation on the air through the ceiling of the porch. We called Charlie Strickland who said he would come check it out...he didn't. Papi talked with him by phone and he indicated that he though it was a trap, vent or leak inside the house. We finally left a note for Deryl to stop working on anything else and work to resolve the odor problem and we left to go home.
As it turns out, Deyly Osborn had forgotten to extend the exhaust pipe from the wall into the space above the ceiling. He eventually went ahead and vented the system through the roof and that took care of the problem.
