Generator

The generator is for back up to the solar system.  It runs on propane gas.  It is on a schedule to run about every 2 weeks and when the solar batteries get low.  There is a small heater plugged  inside the unit that needs to be maintained in the winter in order for the generator to be able to start.  Also, the oil needs to be checked periodically. 

When there have been several days of cloudy weather and the cabin is occupied, it is a good idea to run the generator about an hour to prevent the batteries from being too depleted...it will prolong the life of the batteries and use only about a gallon of propane.

A new generator was purchased in March of 2023.  Key remains in the solar closet and a manual is in the file box in the laundry room.
