Furnishing the Cabin
Papi spent many hours searching Craig's list, Restore (Habitat for Humaninty's resale store), and garage sales. Many others have donated items! Thank you!!!
$.75 chairs that required a little bleach and elbow grease from the NWT garage sale.
Two sets of black metal bunks were purchased through Craig's list from the International House of Prayer apartments, KCMO from Leo. Papi and Baba had to dismantel them in the drizzle in order to pack them in and on the Tahoe.
Lamps and mirrors were purchased from Restore, Lenexa and KCMO
Our attic and upstairs were crammed with bed frames and mattresses for months. Michael Pate furnished us with lots of estate sale linens and Baba made a bunch of light weight flannel blankets. Papi found bargains at garage sales.
The Pate family gave thoughtful items at Christmas and birthdays and even sneaked items into our house to help furnish the cabin.
Cori and Rich Willams donated some small tables.
Papi found these oak beauties-7 chairs for $40.00 total from Craig's List.
A king bed set and dresser was donated by Becky Merys. The set originally belonged to Eleanor and Marty Mueller
On December 16, 2015, our appliances were delivered and put into storage at Deryl Osborn's workshop. We also brought a bunch of things from home such as lighting, dehumidifier, garbage disposal and fans to store and have available for placement when the time comes.

We purchased the stair lift from Steve Smith, Joplin, MO. for $1000.00 through Craig's List. It was not new but was unused and still in the original box. We then took the rails to Great Plains Medical in Olathe to get an extension on the rail. The lift is for our son, Matt, but anyone who needs it is welcome to use it. Please be sure to leave it in the top most position so that it is not exposed to the weather.
