Keep the trap in the Radiantec closet filled with water...check occasionally to minimize odor.  Spigot  is located below the household water heater on the right.  Turn water on gently to eliminate spray.

To Add Pressure to the Radiantec System

Gather:

Two People

Two hoses (Green with both couplers, black with one coupler cut off)

Large bucket of clean water

Several towels and pots to collect water that sprays

2 quart pitcher of water and funnel to fill pump

Fluid transfer pump (not the sump pump)

Prepare:

1 Place the pump on an elevated position (cooler?)

2 Attach the couplers to the intake and outlet holes on the pump

3 Loosely attach the green hose to the outlet hole and to the radiantec coupler (so air can be released)

4 Attach the black hose to the intake hole and put other end into the bucket of water

5 Pour water from the pitcher into the funnel in the opening on the top of the pump (water will fill the reservoir and fill the hoses)

6 Tighten all of the couplings well using lock wrench

7 Release the air valve on the Radiantec and then tighten back up

Do it!

A No on/off switch on pump—plugging it in turns it on.  Do not run dry!!

B Plug pump in—prepare for water spraying from every orifice!

C Open valve on Radiantec

D Watch pressure—try to get up to 40 psi.  (It will drop after pump is turned off.)  Ideal PSI for the system is 30

E Unplug pump and close valve on Radiantec at same time.

F Clean up the water that is everywhere

G Empty the pump of all water

On March 26, 2018, we asked Larry Clarke of Clarke Development Company to work on the leaks in the copper pipes for the Radiantec under the floor heating system.  With some fits and starts Larry and Papi seemed to get the system working with the pressure up...we had to leave right away so we will see...
