Checklist of Things to Do Upon Arrival During your Stay and on Departure
Upon Arrival
Use the combination to open the cable across the road and move the cable to the side. Make sure the lock is secured after entering...you may leave the cable open if you think you may be making frequent trips up the road...up to you.
Locate lockbox and open front, porch or "basement" door of cabin
Open windows to circulate air if stuffy or build a fire in the stove if it is cold. Do not change the thermostat unless you contact Papi.
Check that water is running and hot water is available
During Your Stay
Keep power usage to a minimum-USE POWER WHEN IT IS SUNNY!
Use the attic fan as needed--no more than 20 minutes at a time
Attic fan works best in the cool of the evening and early morning...Keep the cabin closed up during the heat of the day. The switch is located near the kitchen door.

Air conditioner is located in the upstairs back bedroom. It is for the whole house. Once it gets warm in the spring it should be set to about 77 degrees and run throughout the day in order to cut down on humidity.

Use the garbage disposal sparingly...put most of the garbage into the trash.
Jot down items that need to be replenished or which you have
replenished so you can up date this page
Be careful of what is put in toilets because a septic system is touchy
-minimal toilet paper and personal waste...nothing else!!!! NO POWDERED DETERGENTS
If you wish to use the barbecue grill, please pull it out from under the roof onto the deck extension and place the protective mat under it. Return it to its original place after use.
If using the wood stove, use only the small pieces of firewood that fit completely inside the stove box and be sure to open the damper before lighting. Specific instructions are in the Riversong book.

Campfires can be built at the fire rings located behind the cabin and on the left side of the road to the river at that campsite.

Please wash off sand, mud, gravel, etc. using the hose or the shower head under the cabin on the concrete pillar behind the steps. There are both hot and cold water available so be careful. Please do not leave hot water running for long.
Upon Departure (Click here for a printable departure checklist)
