Solar Batteries Maintenance

On May 30, 2022, Ron's Electric installed our new 48V Kong Elite lithium battery.    No Maintenance required other than yearly inspection by Ron's Electric!!!

Lead acid batteries (replaced with lithium in May 2022)

Batteries must be filled with DISTILLED WATER.  Check at least every three months.  Keep Vaseline on anodes to keep them from corroding.

The generator is set to automatically kick on about once every two weeks for about 20 minutes.

The generator will generally kick on when the batteries are depleted to about the 49.5 volts for 20 minutes and will charge the batteries to keep them above that level.

To make the best use of the available sun, it is recommended that peak usage of power should be during peak sun hours.  The batteries cannot store all of the power of the sun so using electricity at peak sun hours does not drain the batteries.

It is recommended that the attic fan be run for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time.

The  generator needs to be serviced once a year--Ron's Electrical--417 885-0106

Use the hydrometer by extracting water from each battery separately and compare the results.  If there is a significant difference between any of them a reset is necessary.  Call Ron's Electric
